Four Pillars
I

Honor God

The orientation that comes before every other. Play to glorify the One who gave you the gift.

II

Embrace the Fight

Relentless, fearless, physical. Never out of the fight — strongest in the fourth quarter.

III

Respond with Courage

Courage is not the absence of fear. It's moving toward what matters anyway. Run at it.

IV

Overcome Together

Foxhole buddies. We stand as one and let no brother slip below the line unnoticed.

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."
Romans 12:2
Why We Do This
Are You Maximizing Your Human Potential? The Real Competition Is In Your Head and In Your Heart.

Talent is common. Discipline is rare. But neither one means much if it isn't pointed at something higher. We believe the mind gets renewed the way Romans 12:2 says it does, not by accident, but on purpose, day after day. That's the whole idea behind Hero's Mindset: an athlete who honors God first plays differently. They fight when it's hard because their strength isn't their own. They respond with courage instead of shrinking back, because their worth was already settled before the whistle blew. They learn to overcome together, not alone. Honor God. Embrace the Fight. Respond with Courage. Overcome Together. That's not a slogan, that's how a mind gets rebuilt. We built this because we've watched too many gifted kids get outworked by kids who simply believed harder and stood on something more solid than themselves. This is bigger than sports. Champions in life come before champions on the field, and the right mentality, rooted in the right foundation, is how you win both.

Raising them tough

Coach David Simoneaux is a husband, father, author, and championship football coach whose life's mission is to maximize human potential by developing leaders of character, courage, and conviction.

Since beginning his coaching career in 2004, David has dedicated more than two decades to building winning programs and, more importantly, transforming young men. His journey has taken him from Parkview Baptist to Central High School, Catholic High Pointe Coupee, Catholic High Baton Rouge, and back to Central High School as head coach. Throughout every stop, his focus has remained the same: build people before building champions.

Known for his relentless pursuit of excellence, David believes success is earned through discipline, accountability, and daily commitment. His vision extends far beyond the scoreboard. He is passionate about helping athletes slay giants, crush milestones, and become the heroes of their own stories.

David is also the creator of the Close the Gates Initiative, a movement dedicated to strengthening the Central community and inspiring young athletes to remain committed to their hometown. His leadership philosophy is built on a simple belief: expect nothing, earn everything, and never stop growing.

As a co-founder of The HERO Mindset and a published author, David is committed to equipping athletes, coaches, parents, and leaders with practical tools to develop mental toughness, resilient character, and purpose-driven leadership. His passion is helping others discover that true greatness begins on the inside.

Away from football, David has been married to his wife, Blair, since 2015. Together they are raising four children — Allie Jewell, Beau, Gabe, and Leo. Whether he's coaching on Friday nights, writing, renovating projects around the house, or spending time outdoors with his family, David believes his greatest calling is to lead faithfully at home.

"Championships may define a season, but the people you develop define a lifetime."

Earned together

Coach Zack Morris is a husband, father, author, educator, and football coach whose passion is helping athletes maximize their potential and become the heroes of their own stories.

A proud Central native, Zack has dedicated his life to developing young people through the game of football. His coaching career began in 2010 at Live Oak High School before moving to Catholic High Pointe Coupee. In 2014, he returned home to his alma mater, Central High School, where he helped build a championship culture. After coaching at Catholic High Baton Rouge, Zack once again returned to Central, continuing his mission of investing in athletes on and off the field.

A 2006 graduate of Central High School, Zack was a four-year starter at Louisiana College, where he developed the discipline, leadership, and competitive mindset that continue to shape his coaching philosophy today. Football has always been a family tradition, as Zack and all of his brothers proudly competed together for the Wildcats.

As a co-founder of The HERO Mindset and a published author, Zack is committed to equipping athletes, coaches, parents, and leaders with practical strategies for developing mental toughness, character, and purpose. He believes true success isn't measured by wins alone, but by the lives that are transformed through leadership, discipline, and unwavering faith.

Married to his high school sweetheart, Ashtyn, Zack is a devoted husband and father to their two children, Cooper and Cambre. Whether he's coaching Friday night football, cheering from the sidelines at his children's games, writing, or spending time outdoors with his family, Zack believes his greatest legacy will never be the trophies he earns, but the people he inspires.

"Honor God. Embrace the Fight. Respond with Courage. Overcome Together."
